Grand Theft Auto IV No spoiler review
The graphics in GTA4 on both the ps3 and 360, for the most part, were a let down especially after experiencing the multiplatform COD 4. The poor lighting in Grand Theft Auto 4 make it difficult for navigation and distract from gameplay. The magical floating shadows and "TestDrive Offroad" car sound effects along with glitchy physics are a pin in the over inflated balloon of hype that preceeded the games release.
But most won't be buying the game for the graphics or actual game physics. All in all GTA4 was worth the wait and delayed release dates for the storyline itself. Regardless of the glitchy physics RockStar did take time to develop the game interacting environments and storyline that again draws it's player into Niko's hardened conflicted lifestyle. It has added alot to the depth of the character and depth to all he encounters. Niko has more chances to do things his way (your way) in this installment of the GTA series. Along with those choices there is the looming possibilty that if you don't follow the directive exactly as mandated to you will pay a consequence. This adds to the replay value of GTA4. Not only will you enjoy going back to replay the game for the mere fun of destroying things as in past installments of the Grand theft Auto series, now you can play out different scenerios as you make different choices throughout the game during the replay.
We are not sure why Grand Theft Auto 4 received a 10 rating from so many other gaming sites. At best the storyline and dialog are an 8. Game graphics are a 5. And Game Physics would rate a 6. The ability to create chaos would recieve an 8 as well. From a "This Generation" HD game standard there is nothing that this game offers that would qualify it as a 10.
